What is Cricket?
Cricket is an Eastern World sport played mostly in India and the United Kingdom. The game is similar to baseball in the sense that you have a pitcher (called a bowler), batters (called batsmen) and your score from hitting the ball. The object of the game is to the the most runs.

What We Did
We chose Cricket because no one else was doing it, plus it was unique from all of the other past projects. Our group then had to decide on what action to do. We decidede to use the action of hitting the ball because that is one of the main actions in Cricket that our group could preform.

Calculations
All the calculations done in this project are based off of horizontal, vertical, and total velocity and impulse and momentum. Let me explain them for you.
- Horizontal Velocity- That is the velocity an object has horizontally. To figure this out you divide the distance that it traveled horizontally by how long it was in the air (v=d/t). The unit of measure is meters per second.
- Vertical Velocity- This is how much velocity an object has vertically. To find this you multiply the acceleration due to gravity by how long it took to hit the ground. You do this because the object will fall at the constant rate no matter how far you propelled it forward.
- Total Velocity- That is how much velocity the object had in total. To find this you use the Pythagorean Theorem to find the hypotenuse of your horizontal and vertical velocity (called vectors) triangle, which is your total velocity. For our angle of the hit, we assumed that it was 45°. That then made the vertical velocity the same as the horizontal which is 40m/s.
- Impulse- This is how long an object is impacted. It is basically the amount of a shove something is given. The equation used to find this is J=Ft. The equation is also equal to that of momentum. The unit of measure for impulse is newton seconds (Ns).
- Momentum- This is the tendency of objects staying in motion. The equation for momentum is p=mv. You can set impulse to momentum in order to find variables that you don't know. The units that you would use for momentum is kilograms meter per second (kgm/s)
Reflection
In this project I had some strong points and some challenges. My group has much better communication which really helped. We able to film the correct clips without anyone being confused if they were not there. Sine we had great communication we were also able to come up with ideas that we all agreed with. I also learned that I am good a taking in everyones' ideas and incorporating them into one idea that we all like. That was helpful because we all had something that we thought of in our final product.
A challenge for me was learning about Cricket and how to actually hit the ball. That was a difficult for me because I have never played it or really heard of it before this project, while everyone else in my group had an idea of what it was. My group was very helpful to me in this because they had a lot of patience while explaining everything to me. Another challenge was the video editing because I had never worked with that before and I didn't know how to do it. Next time I can ask my group to show me what they are trying to do and see if I can do a clip.
